Apart from the players who represent the club on the field, there is a huge team behind the scenes that helps keep the whole organisation going.
In this new section of the website, we aim to build up records of coaches, presidents - and possibly other officials who all play a vital part in the history of Queen's Park.
This first section, provided by Forrest Robertson, gives details on the men who have had the task of picking the Queen's first team throughout the decades - the coaches.
With Queen's, what actually constitutes the coach is open to some debate. Up until the 1960s, the Committee picked the team and the player organised the training under the captain.
Ex-Rangers full back Bert Manderson was certainly wielding the magic sponge in the 20s, 30s and 40s but he wasn`t the first and he can`t really be called more than "trainer/sponge man".
Similarly Willie Gibson splashed freezing water on bruised goolies from about 1945 to the early 60s. Another ex-Ranger Billy Williamson could be called trainer/coach in the early 50s but he was only there to "coach" what the committee provided him with and was just the first one of two or three in similar positions.
The first real coach would have to be Eddie Turnbull who was in charge of team selection from 1962-1963 to the end of February 1965 when he went off to Aberdeen.
Harold Davis (another ex-Ibrox stalwart) came in next from the start of season 1965-66 for a couple of years before he was replaced by Tommy Duncan.
Tommy was succeeded by Davie McParland in the summer of 1974, before Joe Gilroy arrived in 1976.
When he moved on in 1979, Eddie Hunter took charge and remained at the helm until December 1994. Eddie had been on the coaching staff from when he stopped playing at the end of 1973-74 but progressed to head coach in 1979.
His son, David, and Andy McGlennan were in temporary charge until Hugh McCann came in in the Spring of 1995 and stayed until 1997. Graeme Elder was player/coach from 1997-98, and then John McCormack took charge from close season 1998 to November 2002,
Paul Martin was interim coach from November 2002-January 2003, before Kenny Brannigan took the helm until August 2004.
He was followed by Bobby Dickson and David McCallum as interim coaches for a few weeks, then Billy Stark - and finally Gardner Speirs took charge on January 25, 2008.
