Winning way with words
Congratulations go out to Ewan Raeburn who has won the Wordsearch competition organised by our club for young supporters - the Black & Whites. Ewan (9) from East Kilbride was one of a number of youngsters to get the answers right, but his was the entry drawn out by Ivy Riddell, President of the Supporters' Association. Ewan's prize is to be the mascot at the home game with Berwick. There could be a glorious Black and Whites double for the Raeburn family - who obviously take their talents from their mum! Ewan's elder brother Duncan has reached the "play-offs" to decide the winner of the Guess the Scores competition. At the end of the scheduled list of dates, Duncan and David Cross were level on points. As there were three postponed matches during the period of the competition, we are using those games to decide who wins the autographed football. The rearranged game at East Stirling may provide the winner. If not, we'll move on to the next rearranged game.Another one for the anoraks
We've added another wee treat for those folk who love to delve into the records on the club website. Our Stats Life section now lists some of the off-the-field teams who keep the club running - beginning with details of coaches and Club Presidents - all the way back to Mungo Ritchie in 1867. Happy browsing.

Prize Double
Queen's notched up a noteable double in the January SFL awards. Barry Douglas was named young player of the month across all three divisions, while Gardner Speirs picked up the gong for Division 3 manager of the month. Needless to say, no sooner had the awards been announced than the old curse struck - and we promptly lost 5-2 at home to Stranraer, in a match that also saw skipper Richard Sinclair carted off with a broken bone in his foot.
Steve, Scott off to the Glens
A couple of familiar faces have left Queen's on loan. Steve Reilly has joined Ayrshire junior side Glenafton Athletic, while goalkeeper Scott Black will be turning out for Rutherglen Glencairn. Both loans are until the end of the season, but the players can be recalled earlier if circumstances change.A Little signing news
Gardner Speirs has completed a deal which will see Ricky Little remain at Hampden until the end of the season.Memories are made of this
Although our youth squad has now returned from the winter training camp in Vilamoura, a selection of videos from the trip can be accessed through the link below - including highlights of a memorable victory when our boys cleaned up against Ajax. Hams out
The Hampden XI crashed out of the Scottish Amateur Cup. losing their replay at Lesser Hampden against St Pat's by 4-1.
Final farewell to Big Al
A popular figure in the ranks of the Queen's Park supporters, Alistair McNeil, was laid to rest on Tuesday, December 1. Alistair, who died suddenly last month, was a well-kent face for many years at Hampden, particlarly as a barman in the QP Social Club. He was asked to help out once, by his brother David when he was Social Convener - and ended up working for several years behind the bar! As a keen amateur footballer Al played for King's Park Rangers and was often asked to turn out for various Queen's Park Supporter's teams, famously cutting the lip of Andy McGlennan with a robust challenge in a coaches v supporters match! He had moved to the Dumfries area, in the last couple of years after
re-marrying and the thoughts of everybody at the club are with his wife Beverly, his adopted family and the rest of the McNeil clan at this sad time.

New Spiders sign on
After signing goalkeeper Peter Hamilton, Gardner Speirs has bolstered the squad again by bringing Ricky Little back on a two-month loan deal. The tough-tackling Partick Thistle defender spent a few months at Hampden at the end of last year, and has now returned until January. Gardner has also completed a month's extension to Paul Quinn's loan deal, although the St Mirren striker definitely won't be available for tomorrow's game against East Stirling. The boss is grateful to Thistle and Saints for allowing these players to join us.
