Highland gathering

July 31 sees Queen's take their first trip of the new season ... and what a trip it is. Inverness beckons for a Co-operative Insurance Cup tie against Caley Thistle.
QPSA will be running a bus to the game - and it's sure to be busy, so get your bookings in early. The bus times are: Clarkston: 8.35am; Battlefield: 8.45am;Cochrane St: 9am. Prices: Adults: £11; Concessions: £8; 16-and-under: £5.
Tickets will be available (for a £5 deposit) for both the Inverness and Montrose buses from the Supporters' Shop and from Alex Leggate and Joe Mullaney at the Livingston game. If anyone has trouble getting the tickets but would like to reserve their seat, they can email Joe or Alex - email adresses can be found on the Travel Club page of this site. Booking is very important for away travel - it helps ensure the correct size of bus, and also serves to guarantee you a seat.
Please note, there is no additional Travel Club discount for the Inverness trip. However, it will be in place for our first league match of the season, away at Montrose, the following week. If anyone wishes to join the Travel Club, they can do so at the Supporters' Shop at a QP home game, or with Joe or Alex either at Hampden or on one of the buses. The cost is £18 for adults, £13 for concessions.

Winners already

Queen's have notched up a major off-field success as for the second year in succession, we have secured funding under the Da Vinci Initiative to take a party of our youth players and coaching staff to a winter training camp. In January it was the Algarve, next January it will be Turkey, and the Adora resort camp at Antalya. It's a big feather in the club's cap, and another big boost for our youth development system. Last season, a number of the 17s returned from the Algarve and played a major part in that squad securing a league and cup double, while Paul Gallacher returned to claim a starting spot in the first team as it began its run to the play-offs. Another five of the youngsters who were on the trip have now been given first team contracts at Queen's Park. More details of the camp and the players heading off on the trip will follow.
