Latest news on squad ins ... and outs
The season may have just ended - but preparations continue apace for the new term.
Paul Gallacher and Sean Burns have become the latest players to re-sign for Queen's. Their decisions bring the total of players committed to playing at Hampden next season to 13.
As is always the case at the end of any campaign, a few players have decided to move on. Michael Daly and David Murray want to head for pastures new. Martin McBride is another face we won't see at Hampden after the summer as he has found a new job in London. Gavin Lachlan and Steven Baillie have been released, while Daryll Meggatt has signed for Alloa.
Discussions continue with the rest of the squad, but the club would like to take this opportunity to thank the departing players for their efforts on behalf of Queen's Park FC and wish them every success in their future careers.
The latest position with regard to the squad is: Signed -
Neil Parry, Richard Sinclair, James Brough, Peter Bradley, Paul Gallacher, David Anderson, Giuseppe Capuano, Ian Watt, Tony Quinn, Jamie Longworth, Owen Ronald, Craig Smith and Sean Burns.
Moving on: Michael Daly, David Murray, Martin McBride, Steven Baillie, Gavin Lachlan.
Although postings on the club website will be much reduced over the close season, while we get ready to launch a new look for 2012-13, we will continue to update the signing situation as it progresses. Watch this space.
That's it for another season
A 2-0 home defeat by Stranraer left Queen's dreams of promotion in tatters and brought the curtain down on another season that promised so much - yet ended in disappointment. The result means we bowed out of the play-offs on a 5-1 aggregate. To complete a bad weekend for the club, the 19s lost 1-0 to Stenhousemuir in the final of the SFL League Cup on Sunday. However, there was some good news - the club's youth site has now broken through the million-hits barrier. Congrats to all concerned.» Match Report
